The National Tequila Fair (Feria Nacional del Tequila) is the biggest celebration in Tequila town, Jalisco. It runs for about two weeks between late November and mid-December; in 2025 it ran from November 28 to December 14. Expect an opening parade, the crowning of the fair queen, charreadas (Mexican rodeo), live music, fairground rides and distilleries open for tastings. When is the National Tequila Fair?
It takes place every year between late November and mid-December and lasts about two weeks. The 2025 edition ran from November 28 to December 14. The Tequila town council publishes the official program a few weeks ahead, usually on its social media.
What to do at the fair
- The opening parade and the crowning of the fair queen, with floats through downtown streets.
- Teatro del Pueblo: live music, popular dances, folk dance and shows for children.
- Charreadas and horse shows at the local sports grounds.
- Distilleries with tours and tastings of blanco, reposado, añejo and special editions.
- Fairground rides, craft stalls and regional food.
Pros and cons of going during the fair
The good: the whole town is celebrating, there is music in the square most nights, and tequila brands bring out tastings and special editions. It is Tequila at its liveliest.
The bad: far more people, heavier weekend traffic from Guadalajara, and rooms sell out. If you want a quiet visit to distilleries and fields, any other week is better.
How to plan your visit

- Weekdays are much quieter than Saturdays and Sundays, and many activities still run.
- If you drive, arrive early: downtown parking fills up first.
